“Saving a dead tree” is an 8 min 09 sec documentary. It depicts a retired scaffolder who once again practices his profession by building a scaffold to protect a dead tree with green safety nets in the middle of the field where most of the trees were cut and burned due to urbanization. While building the scaffolding, the old man slowly narrates his story of making ends meet. Through directing the project, I hope to reveal the dual absurdity of life, as saving a dead tree parallels the reality of this old scaffolder outside the frame.
